The cycle repeats and its a never ending cycle of survival of the fittest.
Beneficial bacteria is important in the tank due to the Nitrogen Cycle of an aquarium. When your aquatic pets produces waste, these wastes turn into Ammonia. That is where the beneficial bacteria does their job of converting the Ammonia into Nitrite. The beneficial bacteria will continue to do its job to convert Nitrite to Nitrate where it is less harmful for the fish. Nitrate will have to be removed from the tank via water change.
The Qanvee Fluidized Moving Bed Filter is best combined with another filter such as an Overhead Filter. It has to be used with an airpump in order to work. Bacteria will not build up over time and it will take some time before the media will start tumbling.
The media is made similar to k1 media. It is also extremely therapeutic and beautiful to watch the media tumbling in your tank. This filter serves its purpose as well as enhancing the aesthetics of your tank.
