More than 40 years’ experience in the ornamental & aquarium fish industry as biologist, fish pathobiologist, owner, director, CEO, wholesaler, importer/exporter of ornamental fish, fish health manager, trainer of aquarium staff , rapid application of microscopic research and diagnostic tools, consultant for several companies in different countries, author, speaker, developer of DR. BASSLEER BIOFISH FOOD with nutricaments, ex-President of OFI (Ornamental Fish International 2006-2016).

Published books and app Fish Diseases iOS & Android.

Currently, Gerald is semi-retired, and spends now less time to travel around the world as “The Flying Fish Doctor”! But he still gives service to the industry to improve the wellbeing and health of the aquatic livestock = ornamental fish!

Hereby he uses media like YouTube, Patreon, Facebook and gives Zoom-meetings the help to solve problems & diseases with our aquarium fish (for the professional, as well for the hobbyist)

He is still working with contracts in the Netherlands, Germany and Brazil! And still ‘in touch’ with Kenya, Spain and Congo.
