2Hr Aquarist APT Start is an all-in-one startup booster developed for new planted aquariums and aquascapes. It combines substrate enrichment with beneficial starter bacteria, helping establish a nutrient-rich root zone while accelerating microbial development and the aquarium cycling process.

The APT Start aquarium substrate booster provides ammoniacal nitrogen and essential minerals to enrich the substrate while beneficial bacteria help establish the microbial ecosystem required for a more stable new aquarium.

How to Use APT Start

Step 1 – Remove the Bacteria Sachet

Open the APT START pouch and remove the separate bacteria sachet inside before spreading the main substrate-enrichment material.

Step 2 – Spread APT Start Across the Aquarium Base

Spread the contents of the main pouch evenly across the bottom of the aquarium.

Step 3 – Add Substrate

Cover APT START with your chosen substrate, preferably aquasoil, and complete the hardscape and planting layout.

Step 4 – Fill the Aquarium

Fill the aquarium with water as normal.

Step 5 – Add the Starter Bacteria

Open the previously removed bacteria sachet and add its contents directly to the aquarium water

It should be applied when constructing a new aquarium, before the substrate is installed.

It can be used whether the aquarium is planted immediately or started using a dark-start approach.

APT Start with Aquasoil

APT START can be used to enhance many aquasoils by adding additional root-zone nutrients and beneficial starter bacteria.

However, the manufacturer states that APT START is not necessary when using APT Feast, because APT Feast already provides sustained nutrition and beneficial microbes from initial setup

USAGE

Open the pouch and remove the Blue Sachet inside.

Spread contents of the main pouch evenly at bottom. Add substrate and hardscape on top.

Fill tank with water.
Tear open blue sachet (it contains dormant bacteria) and pour contents into water.
